Every year, the Sinister 7 Ultra Marathon draws thousands to the town of the Crowsnest Pass, and this year I was lucky enough to be part of the action as a course photographer. I was able to assist a friend who runs Raven Eye Photography in Fernie and learned a ton about photographing a large, complex event.

The race runs 24 hours, so we were shooting late into the night. I was able to even get out from about midnight until 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning to shoot the light trails of runner’s headlamps as they tackled the course all through the night.
